In late November 2025, on the arid trails of Senillosa in Argentine Patagonia, team Sportotal completed the 300 km Ansilta XK Race Traverse after more than 38 hours of continuous effort across mountain biking, trekking, and kayaking. The victory earned them the ARWS South American Championship title and, in the same stroke, secured their ticket to the World Championship in Corsica.
This all-Argentine quartet is built around brothers Nicolás and Lucas Vallejos, who have been racing together for over twenty years and have accumulated podium finishes across the biggest races on the South American circuit. Florencia Delaporte has been part of the team for several seasons, a quiet cornerstone of a well-oiled unit. So has Edgardo González, who spent years racing against the Vallejos brothers under different colours in Patagonia. Together, the four form a tough and driven team, fuelled by that garra so dear to Argentine sport, determined to fly the Albiceleste flag all the way to Corsica. Before their Patagonian title, Sportotal had already claimed victory at the Desert Challenge in Chile, confirming a strong run of form that currently places them 11th in the ARWS world rankings. On the Patagonian course, their strength lay in consistency: leading from the second mountain biking leg, they stretched their advantage during the kayak section before holding firm through a hard-fought night trek, where the two brothers’ shared experience proved decisive. “The navigation was very demanding, which kept the race tight until the very end,” Nicolás said at the awards ceremony, underlining the intensity of a continental title and a World Championship berth snatched in the final leg. His brother Lucas, already looking ahead to the main event in autumn 2026, added: “We hope everyone will support us, and that we’ll do what it takes to be ready for the tough race ahead.” A statement that speaks volumes about their clear-eyed awareness that the hardest challenge is still to come, against the best teams in the world.
For Sportotal, Corsica will mark only Argentina’s second appearance at an ARWS World Championship.
