November 2025, on the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia. A 36-hour race through wind-swept cliffs, native forests, river systems, and coastal wilderness. It was during the Total Recon that Not Known earned its ticket to Corsica by becoming the Oceania Champion. This victory came as only a partial surprise: Tim Boote’s team was expected to be among the favorites before the start, and they did not disappoint.
Behind this deliberately understated name lie four athletes with deep roots in the Australian adventure racing theatre. Tim Boote has first a background in team sports and later turned to multisport racing, which he has been practicing for years in the wild landscapes of Victoria’s East Gippsland – a region of dense forests, inland lakes, and unpredictable rivers that forge well-rounded racers. Augus Rodwell is one of the most familiar faces on the national circuit: a member of the Thought Sports team – the 2018 Australian champions – he is renowned for his paddling skills, capable of turning the tide of a race during the water sections in the final kilometers. Elly and Klayten Jackson round out this mixed quartet, seasoned veterans of the ARWS circuit’s formats and expeditions.
Together, they form a well-balanced team capable of maintaining a steady pace over the long haul.
