In Corte, the World of Adventure Racing Parades

After more than two days dedicated to technical checks and equipment inspections, the 100 teams gathered at Place Tuffelli on Tuesday afternoon for the traditional Parade of Nations, one of the first major highlights of this Corsican edition of the Adventure Racing World Championship.

Led by a musical ensemble made up of students from the Cité scolaire de Corte, the procession made its way along Cours Paoli. Flags flying and colours from around the world filled the heart of the town. With 30 nations represented, the parade showcased the truly international dimension of this World Championship taking place in Corsica.

Students from the Cité scolaire also played their part, accompanying the delegations and carrying the flag of each nation. Along the route, locals and visitors had the opportunity to see these athletes from all corners of the globe who, from Thursday morning, will swap the streets of Corte for several days of non-stop racing across the island.

After passing through Place Paoli, the procession made its way to the Università di Corsica, the finishing point of this journey around the world in just a few hundred metres, and the venue for the opening ceremony.
